How to identify correlating metabolites and confirm their identity in breath with Super SESI?

This paper, published by our colleagues at ETH Zurich, reports the detection of a whole series of ω-oxidation products of unbranched medium-chain fatty acids in exhaled breath (ω-hydroxy alkanoic acids, ω-oxoalkanoic acids, and alkanedioic acids) with carbon chain lengths of 5-15. These metabolites correlated with the ω-oxidation pathway in a study with 146 healthy individuals.

SUPER SESI used by Philip Morris International to develop smoke-free tobacco alternatives

PMI has decided to bet on a smoke-free future. For this, they have decided to make the required investments in biomedical research and scientific equipment. The goal is to replace cigarettes as soon as possible with smoke-free alternatives.SUPER SESI will help to asses the kinetics of different smoke-free products, and lower the risk of harm caused by smoking.

Super SESI-HRMS: Real-Time Analysis of Dynamic Metabolic Processes

In the last ten years, we have developed the tools required to analyze dynamic changes in metabolism. A key technical challenge was to detect large and biologically relevant molecules in the gas phase, which allowed for the analysis of respiration metabolites. This article describes and illustrates this new window into the metabolism and the volatilome. With an exclusive look at high ionization efficiency of Secondary Electro-Spray Ionization (SESI) and Super SESI application.

Multy center study to diagnose neck cancer with Super SESI

We just installed a second Super SESI at the National Cancer Research Institute of Italy to initiate the first multicenter study based on this technology to diagnose neck cancer with breath analysis.

Due to its proximity to the upper airways, breath analysis is an ideal non-invasive diagnostic approach to detect this disease at an early stage. We are committed to serving scientists and proud to contribute to the improvement of the health of so many people.

CERN's most advanced tools will help Fossiliontech scientists to easily process breath analysis data

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) has officially reached an agreement with Fossiliontech through a project supported by Ineustar-Pioneers and Promalaga to develop a data processing system tool incorporating CERN algorithms, in order to create a post-processing server that shares the conclusions obtained by all scientists working on breath analysis with SUPER SESI.
