How to LOTUS, extend the life of your emitter
The new LOTUS emitters improve protein ID and reproducibility with a hydrophobic coating that stabilizes the meniscus.
This application note shows how to extend the lifespan of your LOTUS emitters.
New Sharp Singularity LOTUS emitters
The new Sharp Singularity LOTUS emitters improve protein ID and reproducibility. It uses the LOTUS effect. This is accomplished by custom design with an hydrophobic coating.
Meet SESI #2
After learning the basics about SESI in our first post of the "Meet SESI" series, let's go deeper into it.
One of the main advantages of SESI is that it is an extremely soft ionization technique. There are no high-energy ions present at any point in the ionizer. But… why is this so important?
Meet SESI #1
We are back with our little educational series, which is becoming a thing in FIT! We enjoy doing it, and so we hope you do while reading!
Now it is the turn of SESI, the core of our company. So, why don't we start with the beginning?
Meet us at ASMS 2022 in Minneapolis | 5-9 June
The 70th Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics - ASMS 2022 will take place in Minneapolis (Minnesota - USA), and we are attending as exhibitors!
We are looking forward to meeting you at booth 214 to discuss the newest topics of Mass Spectrometry.
International Association of Breath Research (IABR) BREATH SUMMIT 2022 12-15 JUNE 2022 in PISA- ITALY
We are glad to announce that we will be Silver Sponsors in the next IABR Breath Summit 20222 Conference in Pisa (Italy)!
We will be there discussing latest breath-related research, and looking forward to meet the Breath Research community again! Don't miss it!
The first Super SESI X (SSX) is is fully functional and in service.
With a 0.1 nA precision current monitoring and 100% automatic control, the SSX makes high-performance nano-electrospray truly easy to operate.
We had to adjust the mechanical latches and the sealing because this was the first time we coupled an SSX to a Q Fortis MS. Thanks to Kseniya Dryahina, Patrik Španěl, Radim from Pragolab s.r.o., and the team at the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry CAS, this was completed in one day, and we were happily acquiring breath and headspace data on the second day :)
Know Your Emitter #2
An emitter can be made out of plastic, metal, silica, several of them combined.. or even paper! Choosing the right type may be crucial for achieving optimal performance of the detection system.
Time to Celebrate
It is time to walk the path towards full automation, and manufacturing smart devices. The new guys will help us get there quicker and better.
Happy New Year from FIT
2021 has been a great year for us, despite the pandemic and all.
We're proud of servicing science a little more each year.
Know Your Emitter #1
Identifying the best capillary size
The electrospray (ES) emitter is an essential part of a high-res mass spectrometry system. The quality of the data is linked to a reliable ES. Despite its central importance, this little piece of equipment isn’t well known.
LESSON #1: ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL
Monitoring of Exogenous Compound Kinetics in Exhaled Breath
Thanks to SuperSESI we can finally see, accurately and in real time, what happens in our lungs after smoking.
Proteomics & Mass Spectrometry Winter Summer School ‘22 — January 16-21, 2022
A group of leading scientists and engineers will gather next month in Madeira (Portugal) to share the latest advances in this exciting proteomics meeting.
Screening of highly relevant compounds in the inhaled route
Secondary electrospray ionization and tools like Super SESI allow us to safely detect large molecules in the gas phase, with an extremely low LoD.
Detecting intact viruses in breath
What if we could detect COVID-19 and other viruses in real-time, in a noninvasive way? No more needles, no more poking in noses, no more waiting!
Doe size matter?
An important, yet often undervalued, piece of mass spectrometry is the nanoES emitter. By carefuly choosing the right size, geometry, tolerance, and materials of the emitter, MS results can significantly improve. What you see is what you get!
