STABILION

Make offline sampling reproducible

  • Validated low-background Sample Barriers: Nalophan-based STABILION Sample Barriers housed inside stainless-steel canisters. Background signals measured in cleaned barriers were approximately two orders of magnitude lower than breath samples, and residual barrier-derived ions are controlled through a dedicated m/z exclusion list.

  • Reproducible sample transfer: Controlled in/out flow rate for consistent sample filling, storage and release into the Super SESI-Orbitrap.

  • Optimized temperature-controlled storage: Active temperature control up to 50 °C, with 40 °C recommended to reduce condensation risk while minimizing barrier-derived background contamination.

  • Traceable and reproducible short-term preservation: Continuous temperature control and canister logging using the STABILION Power Case. Application note results support a reproducible storage window of up to 2 h at 40 °C.

Controlled offline sampling workflow for SESI-HRMS

Precondition Canister: At the sampling site, preheat the canisters by connecting them to the STABILION Control Case, setting the temperature, and powering it (recommended preheating time: 2h)

Collect Sample: Connect the Canister to your sampling system i.e. STABILION Sampling Interface - EXHALION module and quick-connect the mouthpiece for breath analysis, and suction sampler for other applications. Open the inlet valve and collect your sample.

Store: Close the canister valve, place it in the storage position, and connect it to the Control Case. The canister temperature is actively controlled and logged during storage. Application note results support reproducible short-term storage for up to 2 h at 40 °C.

Carry: Keep the canisters connected to the STABILION Control Case during transport to maintain controlled temperature conditions and continuous logging before analysis.

Super SESI-Orbitrap Analysis: Bring the Control Case to the lab. Connect the Canister to the Super SESI interface and open the valve.

STABILION Flow Control: module that regulates the pressure at which the Sample Barriers are emptied into the SUPER SESI, ensuring controlled and reproducible sample release
