Janeiro-na-Madeira Winter Summer School, 2023 JANUARY 9th to 13th

To start the new year, our CEO Guillermo Vidal will participate in the MS Winter-Summer School in Funchal, Madeira as invited speaker!

On-site participants are welcome to arrange their stays in or around hotel Carlton in downtown Funchal. As there will be no conference fee, no freebee should be expected.

All lectures will be on Zoom, and there will be ample opportunity for in-person communication during coffee breaks, lunches and dinners at Carlton, as well as evening activities. There will also be one full day (Wednesday January 11) reserved for social activities and informal communication.

Please join us on J-n-M in person or online!

P.D. Guillermo’s talk will be on the 9th of January as part of the Single Cell proteomics, ultra-sensitive mass spectrometry session:

Revisiting the fundamentals of Electrospray ionization, from art to technology.

Despite having been at the heart of many routine MS analysis for decades, nano-Electrospray ionization is still an art, rather than a technology. We are revisiting the fundamentals of droplet and ion formation to re-design the electrospray with a science-based approach, improve our understanding of it, and ultimately improve performance and reproducibility. In this presentation I will review the basics of electrospray, some theory-observation inconsistencies, our latest improvements, and our plans for the future.
